Learning about Peripherals

Peripherals are devices or add-ons that we add to a computer to enhance or improve your experience.

There are many different types of peripherals that we use everyday some of them are...

  • Mouse
  • Keyboard
  • Monitors
  • Printers
The Mouse- Makes it so you can move your digital cursor around on the screen.

There are 2 different kinds of mice.

  • USB Wireless Optical mouse
  • Trackball Mouse
Keyboard- Reports each key press to a software program that interprets the keystrokes, you can also use keyboard for giving commands such as the CRTL-ALT-DELETE key that is used on the Windows OS.

Monitor- They are the output devices that shows you the digital world, which really means, it shows you all the data that the computer is outputting and makes it so you can see what you're doing. There are also different types of resolution, the more pixels the resolution has, the higher quality it will be.

There are 2 types of monitors
  • LCD Monitor
  • CRT Monitor
Printers- are output devices which you can send data to and it will print it on paper, while scanners are input devices where you can transfer a document into an online photo.

There are 3 types

  • Multifunction Printer
  • Scanner
  • Inkjet Printer

  • Blu-Ray Drive
